Privacy Policy

Island Getaway Travel and Tours ("we", "us"), Purok 5, Poblacion, San Jose, Dinagat Islands, runs this website (dinagatislandtours.com). This policy explains what personal information we collect when you book a tour, rent or list a vehicle, or create an account, why we need it, and your rights under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173).
What we collect
- Account and contact details: your name, mobile number (your username), email address and password (stored scrambled — we can't read it).
- Sign-in with Google or Facebook: if you choose it, we receive only your name, email address and an account number from Google or Facebook. We never see your Google or Facebook password, and we don't post anything for you.
- Tour bookings: the names, ages, gender, address and nationality of each guest, an emergency contact, and room assignments.
- Payments: the payment receipts or screenshots you upload and their reference numbers. We don't collect card numbers.
- Vehicle rentals: your driver's license and another valid ID (photos and numbers), your on-screen signature on the rental contract, and — if you list a vehicle — its registration and your payout account details.
- Messages you send us through the contact form.
- Technical data: a login cookie that keeps you signed in, and standard server logs used for security.
- Sign-in records: when you sign up or log in, we record the date and time, your IP address, your approximate location (country and city, from the IP address), and your device type, phone model, operating system and browser. We use them only to protect accounts and to spot fake or automated sign-ups, and delete them after 12 months.
Why we use it
- To make and manage your booking or rental, confirm payments, and send you updates by email or text message.
- To verify your account (codes sent to your email and mobile number) and, for rentals, your identity and license.
- To meet legal requirements: tourist guest lists for the Provincial Tourism Office and passenger manifests for the Philippine Coast Guard.
- To keep records for accounting and tax purposes, and to keep the site and your account secure — including checking sign-ups for signs of fake or automated accounts.
We do not sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
- Government offices that require it: the Provincial Tourism Office (guest lists) and the Philippine Coast Guard (passenger manifests).
- Our tour assistants, boat operators and accommodations — only the names and details needed to run your trip.
- Vehicle owners who list with us — the guest's name and rental dates for their vehicle.
- Service providers that run parts of the site for us: our web server host, our email service (Brevo) and text-message service, and Cloudflare (website security). They may only use the data to provide their service.
How long we keep it
We keep booking, rental and payment records for as long as the law requires for business and tax records (generally up to 10 years). ID and license photos are kept while your account is active and deleted when you ask us to close your account, unless they are part of a rental record we must keep.
How we protect it
The site uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). ID and license photos, receipts and signatures are stored privately and can be opened only by you and our authorised staff. Passwords are stored scrambled (hashed).
Your rights
Under the Data Privacy Act you may ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, object to its use, or have it deleted, and you may complain to the National Privacy Commission (privacy.gov.ph). You can update your password and sign-in options any time in your account.
Deleting your data
To have your account and personal information deleted — including data received from Google or Facebook:
- Email [email protected] with the subject "Delete my data", from the email address on your account, and include your mobile number.
- We confirm it's you, then delete your account and personal data within 30 days and reply when it's done.
Records we are required by law to keep (for example, paid bookings and passenger manifests) are kept only for as long as required. To remove only our access to your Facebook account, you can also go to Facebook → Settings → Apps and Websites and remove Island Getaway Travel and Tours.
